CURAM 312.5 MG / 5 ML SUSP 75 ML

* Curam 312,5 mg/5 ml (Amoxycillin 250 mg / Potassium Clavulanate 62.5 mg/5 ml) 9.4 g powder to prepare 75 ml oral suspension.
* Composition: 5 mL (1 measuring-spoon) of reconstituted suspension:
& & Amoxycillin (as trihydrate) 250 mg + Clavulanic acid (as potassium salt) 62.5 mg. (also: Aspartam 8.5 mg).
* Indications: For the treatment of common bacterial infections where oral therapy is indicated, including:
& & – Upper respiratory tract infections (including ENT): sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media.
& & – Skin and soft tissue infections: boils/abscesses, cellulitis, wound infections, intra-abdominal spesis.
& & – Lower respiratory tract infections: acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, lung abscess.
& & – Genito-urinary tract infections: systitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, septic abortion, pelvic infection, chancroid, gonorrhoea.
& & – Other infections: osteomyelitis, septicaemia, peritonitis, post-operative infections.
* Dosage:
& & – Curam oral dosage recommendations for children below the age of 12 years are based on 25-50 mg / Kg body weight / day
& & (based on amoxycillin component), depending on the severity of infection.
& & # Children 7-12 years: 10 mL Curam 156.25 mg / 5 mL suspension 3 times a day, or
& & Curam 312.5 mg / 5 mL suspension 3 times a day.
& & – Treatment with Curam should not be extended beyond 14 days without review.
* Preparation and stability of suspension:
& & – Fill the bottle with drinking water to just below the arrow marking on the label and shake well at once. Then fill water up
& & precisely to the arrow marking on the label, and shake thoroughly once again.
& & – Shake the bottle well before every use.
& & – Reconstituted suspensions should be stored in a refrigerator (2-8 degrees C) and used within 7 days.
* Store the powder below 25 degrees C, protect from light and moisture.
